Welcome to Songcycles!  Here you will find songs that I have written over the years.  Too many, perhaps, to even remember!
Songs for adults, for children, for musical theatre. Joyful songs, emotional songs, painful songs, funny, serene, driving songs.
Songs accompanied by amazing musicians, songs unaccompanied. Songs recorded live off the floor, songs created in computer environments.

I hear melodies, and counter melodies - sung by voices, played by instruments - that one day with long life and great good fortune I can have played by the finest musicians and vocalists, symphonies and choirs. Until then, my friends, I am all those things and almost everything you hear on these recordings have been sung and played by me except where noted on each song's individual page. There are advantages and disadvantages, of course, the first being financial, the second being a smaller palette of colours than brilliant players bring. Nevertheless, here they are - all the melodies and voices that fly into my mind and heart from who knows where.

Have a listen.  If you'd like to have a song, a CD, you can buy it here in our store, and download from this site.

Most importantly, I hope you will enjoy this musical diary of my journey through time and space thus far - cycles in a single life coming full circle from youth to 'old' age. Well, maybe, not really old yet!!

I remember reading a prominent astrophysicist's comments that the Universe is essentially singing, that it is emitting a fundamental tone, music.  I can hardly imagine, but I think I’ve been hearing bits and pieces of its songs my whole life.

Many of those bits and pieces you will find here on Songcycles in the 'Corner Store' and 'Supermarket' links. OK. We do need to have some humour here! Enjoy perusing the site, friends.

Children's Storyteller, Actor, Songwriter
Glenn pursued a thirty year career writing music for and acting in children's television including; Mr. Dress-up and Sesame Street (CBC), Shining Time Station (PBS), Treehouse TV (YTV).

He toured Ontario and Michigan entertaining children with his multi-media presentations, Storytime with Phynix and Anansi.

As an arts educator he partnered with ParticipACTION and The Toronto Board of Education to create a video targeting children’s health and well-being.

The truth is, Glenn will always be a kid in some important aspect of himself. Therefore, he will always write music for kids to entertain himself with, while entertaining the small bodied ones.

That works for him.
